ANCIENT ETHIOPIA - AXUM
The story from the scientists is that we all come from Ethiopia.  That is the same story the Rastafarians tell.  Ancient coins in Ethiopia start with the kingdom of Axum, flourished during the Roman and early Byzantine periods, faded out maybe the in the 8th century AD.  It traded around the Indian Ocean and up the Red Sea through Arabia into the Mediterranean.  People imagine that the Muslims cramped their trading style and they languished.  Maybe there was other bad luck too, climate, disease.
