BOHEMIA, MORAVIA, CZECHOSLOVAKIA, CZECH REPUBLIC, SLOVAKIA, etc.
The central European region that is now the Czech Republic and Slovakia was quite important in the middle ages, rich too, as witness the large output of silver pragergroschens over a couple of centuries.  The old coinage tends to follow the German model of the time, with lots of local issues supplementing the royal stuff.  Thoroughly incorporated in the Holy Roman Empire by the 16th century, it emerged again as a national entity, Czechoslovakia, after World War I.  Now it is two countries.  More things change the more they don't.
