CHINAHan dynasty "odd" coins
The writ of the Han Dynasty ran from 206 BC to 220 AD with a few decades break in the middle for the Wang Mang nuttiness.  The main coin for the early part was the Ban Liang in its many varieties, replaced in 118 BC with the Wu Zhu.   It is known that other coins and "coins" were made during the Han dynasty, including odd shaped bronzes and things in silver, bone, and leather.  Unfortunately those things are not adequately described in the records, let alone pictured, so we have to guess.  And as usual with odd shaped bronze things, the question always arises whether the object was a coin or perhaps something else.  Things that appear on this page are "thought to be" of the Han period.
