CHINA, coins
of the rebels and insurgents during the Qing dynasty, 1644-1911 AD.
"Everyone" has
heard of the Taiping rebels and coin people are familiar with their coins.
Come to think of it, do not some aspects of the Rev. Sung Myung Moon operation
seem somewhat Taiping-like? And then there were the "Boxers," who
also put out a few rare coins. And more. You know, even today
there is that group in Xinjiang that is technically in armed rebellion
against the second strongest military in the world. Imagine if there
was a decades old armed rebellion, however repressed, in, say, northern
Montana?
