FIJI,
Before the arrival
of the Europeans the Fijians had one of those divine king absolute monarchies
and a policy of war for the fun of it. If I'm not mistaken there
is this story that they heard of an island of peaceful people 1000 miles
away and went out and destroyed that culture, just because it was there,
low hanging fruit, as it were. The coins, even the common ones, are
all low mintage, but collector pressure is desultory, so there are bargains
to be had.
