GUINEA-BISSAU,
Another name
that refers to two nations (see
Congo). This one, the one who's capital is Bissau, was a Portuguese
colony for several centuries. The Portuguese mostly shipped out slaves.
Before that it was a component of various west African polities back to
the Mali empire in the 12-13th century. A long war of independence
from Portugal has been followed by instability, military coups, civil war,
etc. They have no oil.
