KENYA
Kenya argues with Ethiopia about which country is the cradle of homo sapiens.  In later olden times the nomads roamed the hinterland while the coastal people traded with Madagascar, India, Indonesia.  Arabs did a lot of trading there, and some settled down on the coast, then came the Portuguese, who behaved rather badly, then the British.  Then the people rose up and made the British want to leave.  Now, as we see (2008), they are arguing about stupid stuff.

MOMBASA - a port city on the Kenyan coast, date of founding unknown but certainly before the 12th century.  The 19th century coins come in several varieties.  The coins were made in England and shipped over in barrels packed in oil, which partially oxidized, hence the spots.
