NETHERLANDS
Among other things having to do with its gezellig (did I spell that right?) social climate, at least from certain points of view, Nederland is known for some availability of wooly mammoth fossils.  The coins go back something over 1000 years, start out rare, continue rare and scarce through the Spanish occupation period and the early independent times, and, as you might expect for a relatively small though prosperous country, even large mintage issues are relatively small in the grand scheme of things.  The wrinkle, as far as I have been able to determine in several decades of coin dealing, is that modern Dutch coins are about the least popular series for collecting in the world.

NETHERLAND, UTRECHT, Heinrich II, 1556-68, daalder D-8611 no date (c. 1560), Dutch resistance leader, small planchet flaw (crack-like, OK, its a crack, but stable, only 6mm long, at the edge, unobtrusive), aVF $550.00 sold
