ROMAN COINS OF CONSTANTINE THE GREAT
Constantine I is traditionally acclaimed as the "first Christian emperor" of Rome, but this is probably not the actual case.  There is the well propagated legend of the cross in the sky before the battle, and the unconfirmed tale of his deathbed baptism.  No trace of Christian iconography is to be found on his coins.  What he definitely did do was to allow the free expression of Christianity in the empire.  I'll leave it at that.  You want to call him the first Christian emperor, fine with me.
