USA, wooden nickels & similar
Cute local and private wooden tokens seem to have made their first appearance in the late 19th century, had their heyday from the 1930s-50s, died out in the 70s.  Probably tens of thousands of types were made.  Most are very low priced collectibles.  A few are what you might call interesting.

USA, wood lot: 55mm Battle of Plattsburg 1939 25ยข, Laurel, Missippi 1957 masonite, 3 others, Laurel is worn, the others VF-XF 5 pcs, $35.00
